Employment Allowance is given by HMRC to employers each year to reduce their employer’s National Insurance liability.
From the 25/26 tax year, Employment Allowance is available to all business and charity employers, with no restrictions on size. The only exceptions are:
- Public bodies
- Businesses doing more than half their work in the public sector
- Businesses where a director is the only person on payroll
Additionally where businesses are deemed ‘connected’ to one another, employment allowance can only be claimed on one of the connected payrolls.
The value of Employment Allowance for 25/26 is £10,500.00.
